Clara C. "Katy" Johnson

Clara C. "Katy" Johnson, 79, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022. She was born August 13, 1943 in Ezel, Kentucky to Stanley and Murlene Dennis. She graduated from Twelve Mile High School in 1961. In 1992, she married George Johnson. She was a longtime member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority and First Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Katy retired from Delco Electronics after 30 years as an administrative assistant, and was dearly loved by all of her coworkers. Katy had the biggest, warmest smile and she brightened any room she walked into. To know her was to love her! She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog and horse. She was such a loving & supportive sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to so many. She will be greatly missed! Katy leaves behind her sisters; Midge Dennis, Judy (Jeff) Hyde, brothers; Carl (Mary) Dennis, Steve (Julie) Dennis, Jimmy (Della) Dennis, stepchildren; Greg (LeeAnn) Johnson, Laura (Brian) Denny, grandchildren; Brooke Denny, Briana Denny, Ryley Johnson and Cooper Johnson, her nieces and nephews; Shannon (Matt) Dowden, Shane (Sally) Dennis, Jeremy Dennis, Crystal (Joe) Minor, Missy (Scott) Holtsclaw, Curtis Hyde, Emily (Jon) Mann, Travis (Kelsey) Dennis, Tom (Kelly) Maynard, Greg (Rachel) Dennis, Josh (Becky) Ulery, Joan Dennis, Janice Dennis, Joyce Dennis, Jeanette Dennis, Lynn Dennis, Jessica Dennis, John Dennis, Josh Dennis, Jean Dennis and many great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves her very special friend Bill Franklin, and her bestest girl & longtime companion, her dog Maggie. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Darrell Dennis and Bob Dennis, husband; George Johnson, nephew; Chris Dennis and niece; Mona Day. A visitation for Katy will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kokomo Humane Society or Pals For Paws.
