Bertha V. Riddle, 97, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Golden Living Center. She was born August 29, 1913, in Brosley, Missouri, to Charles W. and Sarah B. (Johnson) Hufford. On November 8, 1931, she married John W. Riddle, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1976.
She worked at Haynes Stellite for 12 ½ years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Golden Ages and a lifetime member of Center Road Church of Christ.
She is survived by ten children, Lindell (Ann) Riddle, Marcine Davis, Joyce (Glenn) Rush, Lonnie (Patsy) Riddle, Shirley (Dwane) Ferren, Karen (Tom) Vinson, Sharon (Joe) Figgins, Don (Cathy) Riddle, Ron (Etta) Riddle, and Barbara Easton; 36 grandchildren; 75 ½ great-grandchildren; 38 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Verna Hewitt, and Ruby Iminman.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Alene Prater, Bill Riddle, and Denzel Riddle; five brothers; and seven sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Brust officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 12 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and from 12 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
