Anthony Allen Tompkins

Anthony Allen Tompkins, age 65, of Sheridan, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born in Greenfield, Indiana on August 13, 1957 to William Tomkins and Eydthe (Tompkins) Johnson. He went to Haworth High School and joined the military at 17 years old. He met and married Vicky Petrey in 1976 and they had 5 children. He worked for Chrysler for 7 years, but he was a truck driver with various companies for over 35 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, singing karaoke, and playing his electric guitar. He loved traveling and spending time with his mother and children. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Eydthe Johnson; brothers, William Tompkins (Middletown, Ohio), David Tompkins (Knox, Indiana) and John Tompkins (Tipton, Indiana); children, Amy (Scott) Gallaher-Tompkins, Amber (Michael) Garcia, Anthony Tompkins, Allen (Lisa) Tompkins, and Kathy Lynn Petrey; grandchildren, Messina Paul and Wyatt Tompkins, as well as 4 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William, and ex-wife, Vicky (Petrey) Tompkins.

A public visitation for Anthony will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902 with a funeral service following immediately at 1:00 PM.
