Alan Larue Sutton was born in Canton, Illinois, on July 19, 1943, and he went to be with Jesus Christ on June 12, 2022. Survived by his wife Marilyn and sister Juanita. Proceeded in death by his mother Bernice and father Delbert, brother Harold, and sister Virginia.
Alan received a Masters degree from Iowa State University and a PhD from Cornell University. He worked as a professor in the Purdue Animal Science Department for 40 years.
Alan and Marilyn married on July 2, 1966, and they have two children Yvonne Noel married to Todd and Ryan Sutton married to Milah. He cherished their 11 grandchildren: Josh, David, Paul, Isaac, John, Sophia, Olivia, Victoria (Noel), Trevor, Gavin, and Cora (Sutton).
The most important truth that Alan wanted to share with everyone is that Jesus Christ is the only Savior and Lord, and He died to atone for our sins. Jesus Christ stated, …“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (English Standard Version Bible, John 14:6). His highest hope was to encourage others to trust, believe, and live for Jesus Christ.
Memorial service will be held on July 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at Covenant Church, 211 Knox Drive, West Lafayette, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either the outreach missions of Covenant Church (www.covenantepc.org) or the outreach missions of Sanibel Community Church (www.sanibelchurch.com).
