William "Bill" Calvin Woods

William "Bill" Calvin Woods, age 82, of Knoxville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was a long-time member of Marbledale Baptist Church and New Hopewell Baptist Church. Bill retired from White Stores after 38 years of service and Rinker Materials after 18 years. He loved to be in the Lord's House with his church family. Bill enjoyed spending time at flea markets and yard sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Grace Beatrice Woods; brothers, E.C. Woods, Robert Woods, Hubert Woods; sisters, Ora Mae Woods and Trula Mae Woods.

Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Iva Woods; son and daughter-in-law, Bill Gaylon and Darlene Woods; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie "Karen" and Steve Wade; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Dewayne and Robin Woods; grandchildren, Josh (Lori) Woods, Alisha (Jason) Ward, Nicholas (Steffany) Wade, Michael (Tonya) Wade, Amy (Patrick) Donoue, April Woods; great-grandchildren, Cloey, Cailey, Mallory and Saylor Wade, Jacob Woods, Jasie and Levi Ward; bonus great-grandchildren, Chelsy (Travis) McGowan, Preston Cole and Triston Smith. The family would like to extend their appreciation to special friends and caregivers, Autumn Wampler Northern, Ray Hurst and Richard Galloway.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville with a service to follow at 7:00pm officiated by Rev. Randy Troutman and Rev. Danny Neal.

Family and friends will meet at Berry Highland South, 9010 W. Simpson Road, Knoxville, Friday, January 22, 2021 for an 11:00am Interment. The family invites friends to share fond memories and sign the online guestbook at www.mccartyevergreen.com.
