Known by many and a friend to all, Bill Pittman passed away November 10, 2022 at Sacred Ground Hospice House at the age of 80. Bill had a distinguished career of almost four decades with the Knoxville Fire Department, serving as the City’s Fire Marshal before his retirement. He was also the co-founder of Pittman Properties, and took pride in providing quality homes in North Knoxville. His charismatic personality endeared him to many, whether you knew him as “Bill”, “Dad”, “Poppy”, “Papa Bill”, “Captain”, “Fire Marshal Bill” or “Bondo”. As a testament to that, Bill's final days in hospice care were spent in the company of family and life-long friends he cherished.
