William “Bill” Leslie Nash, Sr. passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 92 on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from Knoxville High School and attended the University of Tennessee. He served his country in the Navy and was stationed on Okinawa during World War II. Bill was a longtime member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church after serving as Chairman of Deacons and singing in the choir at South Knoxville Baptist Church for many years. Bill worked at Dealers Warehouse Corporation as a Purchasing Agent and Office Manager for 33 years and later returned for 14 years as a part time employee. He was loved by all and influenced many with his humble and gentle demeanor. His love for Christ was evident by his love for others. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. (Shorty) Nash and Mayme Knight Nash; sisters Carolyn Howard and Maxine Jones. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Helen Nash; 3 sons, Danny and wife Candy, Randy and wife Anne, Billy and wife Debbie. 7 grandchildren, Keeley (Micah) Kirby, Kassie (Cory) Anderson, Nathan (Jennifer) Nash, Joshua (Marina) Nash, Kerri Nash, Zach (Kayla) Nash and Caroline (Brent) Langford; 11 great grandchildren, 3 loving nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Sevier Heights Baptist Church main campus. The Funeral Service will begin at 7 pm, with Rev. Stephen Earle officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Well, 1335 7th St. Los Osos, CA 93402 where Randy and Josh Nash serve as pastors.
