Willamae Brown, age 88,of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2020 at her home. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Willamae worked at several jobs during her career including managing the shoe department at Penny's downtown and Pilot Oil Company but her favorite job was as a Crossing Guard for Knox County Schools. You may know her from her various news stories as a crossing guard and then also for her volunteer spirit handing out flags at the Veteran's Day Parade for over 23 years. She was kind to everyone she met and loved by many. Willamae was a light that shined with her outgoing personality and will be greatly missed.
Willamae was preceded in death by first husband, Billy D. Williams, second husband, Tandy Brown and daughter-in-law, Kitty Williams.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, David and Cathy Williams; grandsons, Shaon and Jason Williams; granddaughters, Jenna Carter (Matthew) and Rebecca Kouvas (David); great grandsons, Ian and Asher Carter and Henrik Kouvas.
