Wayne Payton Brintnall (42) of Knoxville, Tennessee entered the gates of Heaven on June 15, 2024. Wayne was born August 16, 1981, to Leonard and Kreela Brintnall in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a member of Second United Methodist Church (Knoxville), and married Katherine “Katie” White on May 14, 2005.
Wayne received a bachelor's degree in business analytics from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A from Lincoln Memorial University. Wayne began his career at the Knoxville Utility Board (KUB) as an intern during his senior year at UTK and continued to work there as an analyst team lead.
As a high-school athlete, he competed in swimming and triathlon events. His musical talents included playing the French horn and he was a tuba player in the University of Tennessee “Pride of the Southland Band.” He enjoyed playing golf and boating with his family on Norris Lake. As an Eagle Scout, Wayne continued his involvement with Scouting America through adult leadership. With scouts, he went on countless hikes, camping trips and badge training.
Wayne is survived by his wife Katie Brintnall, their two sons: Payton and Norris; father, Leonard Wayne Brintnall; brother, Richard (Brooke) Brintnall and their children Kiley, Megan, and Nathan. Additional family members include his grandmothers: Alvena Brintnall and Wanda Pauline Barringer; aunts and uncles: Gary (Denise) Brintnall, Dianna (Kevin) Williams, Linda (Hank) Duncan, D’Wanna Berg, George (Marcie) Barringer; and many cousins.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Kreela Brintnall; grandfathers, Wayne Otis Brintnall and William Payton Barringer; and uncle, Robert Link Berg.
A memorial service will be held at Second United Methodist Church Monday, June 24th. Receiving of friends will start at 5 PM with a service following at 7 PM.
