Walter Hardeman Williams, Jr., 71, of Knoxville,Tennessee passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, he was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on August 3, 1952. Walter was an alumni of The University of Southern Mississippi, earning a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He was an avid fan of Football, Golf, Baseball and loved watching the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturdays in the fall. He also enjoyed reading novels and long conversations with family and friends. Walter was a member of Cokesbury Methodist Church.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. and Alyce K. Williams; sister, Elizabeth W. Eason. He leaves behind his sons, Walter H. Williams, III (Katie) of Nashville, Tennessee and Benjamin G. Williams of Knoxville; grandsons, Cohen H. and Stone E. Williams; siblings, Kyle H. Williams of Ootewah, Amanda W. Borgognoni (Jeff) of Atlanta, Georgia, Robin W. Williams (Cydne) of Knoxville and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Walter will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 1:00pm at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, Tennessee 37932 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm inside Berry Highland West Cemetery.
