Verne Lawson Larson, mother to Jennifer Koch Lubke and James Koch and beloved wife of Eryk Larson, passed away on the morning of Nov. 18 after suffering multiple complications related to cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
Known for her love of reading, Scrabble prowess, and deep devotion to the Baháʼí faith, Verne will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lubke (Ron) of Knoxville; her grandchildren, Henry and Dovie; and a menagerie of pets, most notably Maestro the cat, also known as “Nurse Fluffer Belly.”
Verne was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Stuart Farmilo; brother Jack; and husband Eryk.
A funeral service for Verne will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919.
Flowers are welcome but not necessary. Memorial gifts may be made to National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States.
