Tommy Eugene Greene, age 91, of Knoxville, Tennessee peacefully went to be with the Lord surrounded by family on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was a graduate of Lake City High School. Tommy served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and the first person to get married at the church. With his wife by his side, they owned Greene's Insurance Agency and spent his career as an insurance consultant. Tommy loved being surrounded by his family and was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by parents, Glenn Greene and Heloise Morgan; son, Tommy Greene, Jr.; sister, and brother-in-law, Jackie and Gene Pruett. Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Norma Greene; daughter, Tammy (Daryl) Guinn; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jim) Ogle, Joshua Guinn and fiance, Jess, Kayla (Jay-De) Smart; great grandchildren, Macie and Jimmy Ogle, Aiden, Colton and Kingsley Smart.
A memorial service for Tommy will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
