Thomas B. Jernigan, age 91 of Knoxville, passed away April 23, 2017. Tom served in the Navy during WWII. He was a very active member of Karns Church of Christ, serving in various capacities. Tom was a kind and generous person who made an impression on everyone he new. Preceded in death by wives, Georgia Frazier Jernigan, Katie Louise Dawkins Jernigan and Catherine Cabbage Jernigan; daughter, Gail Copeland; brothers Robert, William and Samuel Jernigan. Survived by children, Gary Jernigan, Wayne (Gayle) Dawkins, Pam (Paul) Kinsey, Sandra (Tom) Daugherty, Yvonne Reed and Gary Cabbage; brother, Richard Jernigan, Jr.; sister, Mary Ellen Smith, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held in Weaver's chapel Friday from 1:00-2:00 pm with service to follow at 2:00 pm. Family and friends will reconvene at Knob Creek Cemetery in Seymour after service for interment.
