             The Brown Family 

My favorite memories are of the California Flenniken's visiting home.
Those were the memories I cherished most throughout my youth & to today.
All of us kids able to get together on those occasions & have one big time, good country food & alot of fun on the farm.
Once we went to Cove Lake State Park.
I remember kinda clear. 
Uncle Charlie I think, had given all the kids a bunch of Quarters, I cried twice that day, once while running & falling down a big ol hill & losing my quarters, the next when I hooked the very First, & Last Fish I ever fished for, it got away, I cried, & have never fished again, ever.
Tom, Joy, Dennis, Mary, Eddie, Terry, Butch, Me, Kevin & Janie, living some of the best years of our lives, in those few short weeks of summer.
Then life happened & things moved along, we all grew up & went our separate ways, raising families of our own.
Because of that, we never got the chance to be as close as we could be, & in all truth, maybe we never took enough time to be as close as we should be.
Life is just that though, we all  have separate thoughts, plans, & dreams, & we all followed them to varying successes, failures & entanglements, but we got through them & remain family.
And we never forgot each other, never stopped caring for each other, & we certainly never stopped loving each other.
Just a few days ago I posted a photo in Dad's back yard of the front gate to Grannie, Dora Smith's, old House & Farm on Rifle Range, it's on Facebook.
It shows the gate Mom brought home, to Grannies yard & house, her old bird bath, I think maybe Uncle Mack made for her, an Angel, & a Cardinal, sitting so close, then flying away.
I remember thinking back to those days in particular & making a game of it on facebook & the speacial feeling I felt remembering, then there was the Cardinal.
At the time I remember thinking of life & death, & how it affects all of us.
I believed it was a sign of my Mom, today, I believe it was T.

My beautiful cousin, I can't believe you are gone from this earth! It leaves a big hole in my heart but I pray you are with your mom and dancing with angels!
