Sylvia Beatrice Ambrister McNew Rogers, age 90, of Knoxville passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orion and Nell Ambrister; husbands, Edward Nelson McNew and Charles Edward Rogers; precious daughters, Angela McNew Cartwright and Denise Rogers Kagley; sisters, Leila Ambrister Rogers and Evelyn Ambrister Atkins; grandson, Derek Alan Rogers. Sylvia is survived by her loving daughter, Melanie McNew Rogers and husband Roger; loving son, Mark Edward Rogers and wife Cleda; brother, Orion Ambrister and wife Peggy; two sons in-law, Kenny Cartwright and Bill Kagley; grandchildren, Star and Jeremy Cartwright, Jason and Joshua Rogers; 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 8th, from 12-2 pm at Berry Highland South Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 pm with Pastor Dexter Jordan officiating. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to any animal shelter of choice.
