Sylvia Jean Ford, 88 years old passed from this earth peacefully, at home, in Powell, TN . She was born May 8, 1934 to Harold and Bertha Robert’s and grew up on Sutherland Ave. She attended Tyson Junior High School, old Knoxville High then transferred to Bearden High School after she met the love of her life, Kenneth Ford. They married on March 2, 1953. They traveled with the Air Force and then settled in Knoxville, TN. Their children are Kim Massey and Dean Ford (Bee) and Grandchildren include Wesley Ford (Holly), Shelley Nicholson (Evan), Kenny Massey, and Caylee Shell (Jonathan). She has 5 great grandchildren with one more on the way.
In a world full of uncertainty and darkness she was a shining light. She never held back on her opinions and thoughts. She always shared her ideas with her loved ones and always spoke her own truth. She was very well read and loved to do crossword puzzles. She was an artist and loved to cook. She was very well known for her delicious cakes and desserts. By vocation, Sylvia was a sales specialist at many of the large Knoxville stores. She worked as store Manager for 24 years at Nancy Lynn Fashions.
Sylvia quietly endured many health issues in her life to include Cancer, Alzheimer’s, many complications, multiple surgeries, tests, and treatments. Her body finally gave out and she went to rest with our Heavenly Father. May the family find peace and comfort knowing Sylvia is in a better place.
Visitation only will be Thursday at Weavers Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Private burial at later date.
