Sue Jones

Donna Sue "Susie" Jones, age 67, of Knoxville, Tennessee unexpectedly passed away at home on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. After graduating Central High School in 1972, she attended University of Tennessee for 3 years before deciding to become a Medical Technologist. Upon completion of those studies, Susie was employed by UT Medical Center Blood Bank where she was happily employed for more than 30 years. Her health was declining but that did not prevent her from enjoying beach and mountain trips. Susie's life was filled with reading, travelling, and all things dogs. She was passionate about animal rescue and animal rights.

Susie was preceded in death by parents, Troy William "Bill" and Dorothy Evelyn Sibbet Jones; brother, Mark Christopher Jones. She is survived by her sister, Glenda Walker; nephew, Tristan (Crystal) Walker.

A graveside service will take place at 1pm Monday, May 16th at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918, meeting at the graveside at 12:45pm where she will be laid to rest with her parents and brother. A Celebration of Life reception will be directly following her committal service at The Chop House (one of her favorite places) in Fountain City, 4870 Harvest Mill Way, Knoxville, TN 37918 where we will raise a glass to bid her a final farewell. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Young Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division St., Knoxville, TN 37919.
