Badgett, Stephen Rance, Sr., age 79, of Knoxville, passed away at his home on November 5, 2014. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, served on the Knox County Co-Op Board for 18 years and on the Knox County Livestock Board for 10 years, and retired from KUB in the gas department after 27 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents R.N. and Esther Smith Badgett. Survivors include: wife of 58 years Isabella "Van" Pearce Badgett; children: Stephen Rance (Kathy) Badgett, Jr., Marty (fiancé Charlie Dunlap) Badgett Chaney, Kathy (Anthony) Badgett Lankford, and Robert Rhea Badgett; grandchildren: Sam (Misty) Chaney, Drew (Holli) Hatmaker, Katie (Paul) Davis, Emily (Byron) Franklin, Bryan Badgett, Vanessa Badgett, Lydia Badgett, and Robby Badgett; great-grandsons: Adam Chaney and Knox Hatmaker; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Friday November 7th from 4-8 PM at Weaver Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM, with Rev. Dr. Albert Pierson officiating. Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 11:00 AM for the graveside service at Rocky Hill Cemetery, Northshore Dr. Serving as pallbearers will be: Tom Howard, Wayne Sweet, Terrell Kerr, Tom Christenberry, Mike Burbrink, and John Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be: Francis Delk, Fred Ludwig, the Knoxville Boat Club, Benard St. Retirees, Knox County Co-Op Board, and the Knox County Livestock Board.
