Stella Ruth Phillips

Phillips, Stella Crowe age 86 of Halls, went to be with the Lord, her husband Dan and her son Bill on Thursday, November 10, 2011. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Powell. She was a retired school teacher who taught with several school systems including Sevier County and Crown College. She held several degrees including an honorary Doctorate.

Survivors include son Danny Phillips and wife Martha, daughter Susan Weaver and husband Stanley, daughter June Mallicoat and husband Clyde, son Barry Phillips and wife Cathy. Grandchildren are Dan Phillips, Jonathan Phillip, Chris Phillips, Todd Phillips, Derrick Mallicoat and Joshua Phillips, and 9 great grandchildren, brothers Houston Crowe, Donald Crowe and Bobby Crowe, their spouses, sister Betty Crane and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shenandoah Boys Ranch, PO Box 5207 Cleveland, TN 37320.

The family will receive friends Sunday November 13, 2011 from 1:30-3:30 pm at Temple Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm with Pastor Clarence Sexton and Brother Don Proffitt officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Hwy at 12:45 pm Monday to proceed to Highland South Memorial Garden for a 1:30 interment service.
