Stanley Livingston Brown, 84 and a resident of Kodak, TN departed this life on September 18th, 2024. Stan, the son of Cordie Herbert Brown and Eleanor Caroline (Justice) Brown, was born in Louisa, Ky, May 23rd,1940. Earning a scholarship for music at Moorehead State University, Stan planned to be a music teacher. Life had other plans and Stan left the university to join Army Intelligence in order to help his mom and dad.
He met the love of his life, Zane Willis, while on leave. Stan and Zane, married for 61 years, leave three children: Laura McKenzie (Michael), Gary Brown, and Stephanie McAninch; greatly beloved grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister; sister-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Stan went to work for the Air Force for 48 years, earning 2 degrees while raising a family and working full time. He also taught music part-time. Stan was especially proud of his work on the Space Shuttle and F-22 projects. Stan also worked for Lockheed for several years.
Stan was a member of the American Legion Sevierville Post 104, a former Presbyterian deacon, a Boy Scout and Scoutmaster, and a Mason.
Stan loved his family, loved adventure in the outdoors, loved learning, and loved God. His family and friends will miss him and are very grateful for his life of service and love. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Boy Scouts of America.
