She was the center of the home. Her love was especially displayed in the kitchen with cooking and baking. She had a way of bringing everyone together at the table especially at the holidays. Shirley was a homemaker, wife and mother. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, baking, entertaining and decorating for the seasonal occasions; the house was immaculate, like something in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Later in the years; with her two younger daughters, she enjoyed activities of beauty pageants, dance recitals, and clogging competitions.
Shirley was a graduate of Rule High School, Knoxville, TN. She was a previous member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and attended Galilee Baptist Church and in the later years participated online.
She is survived by her children Pamella Ann (Paul) Jeffries, Michael “Mike” Ray (Paula) Morton, Angela “Angie” Michelle (Arlin) Wallis, Karen Sue (John) Hackworth, Steven “Steve” Eugene Morton; brother Charles "ED" Edward (Sarah) Ankrom; son-in-law Roger Pickens; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
