Sandra was a member of Second United Methodist Church and graduate of Young High School in Knoxville. She attended the University of Alaska in Anchorage. A past member of Beta Sigma Phi, Eastern Star, Cherokee Lodge and The Knoxville Elks Lodge #160, she was also a retired appraiser from the Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the Knoxville area office. Sandra was a hard worker who could get the job done! She enjoyed life, gardening and traveling.
Sandra was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruby Wright, owners of Wright's Grill on N. Central. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bill Ryan of Newport.
Sandra is survived by daughter and son-in law, Karen and Allen Shoopman of Salem, Wisconsin; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Sissy King of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; extended family, Robert and Helen Ryan of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Bill Ryan of San Antonio, Texas, and Karie Weems of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She also had a total of nine grandchildren that were and are perfect, and her precious dog, "Oskie".
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. A Celebration of Sandra's Life will follow at 2:00pm with Elder John E. Robbins officiating. Graveside Services will immediately follow at the Patio Mausoleum in Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
