Roy D. Edwards

Roy D. Edwards, 86, passed away September 10, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by family. He graduated from Karns High School and the University of Tennessee. He loved his country and was proud of his service in the United States Army. The things he enjoyed most included watching his daughters participate in 4-H Horse and Sheep shows and sporting events. In his later years, he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Roy was also a long time supporter of the Morgan-Scott Project which offers assistance to those in need.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Underwood Edwards, and his daughters, Julie Edwards Gunter (Tim) of Knoxville, Candace Edwards Keck (Chad) of Ohio, and Whitney Edwards Donnachie (Craig) of Knoxville, as well as five granddaughters, three grandsons, and sister, B.J. Cox. Services to be held at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932. The receiving of friends will be Friday, September 16, 2022 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm followed by the Memorial Service at 6:00pm. The family will have a private Graveside Service at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Lynch-Bethel Cemetery c/o Dorothy Huskins, 7504 Carpenter Road, Knoxville, TN 37931, where Roy was a long time Trustee and caretaker of the cemetery. The family wishes to extend deepest appreciation for the excellent care provided by the University of Tennessee Hospice staff, especially nurse Jordan Dooley.
