Ronald Eugene Owens

Ron Owens, age 56, died suddenly at his home on Thursday evening, November 1, 2012. He was preceded in death by parents, John A. and Iva (Dalton) Owens, and by brother, John A. Owens Jr. Survived by wife, Barbara(Lawson) Owens, whom he married in 1987 and became instant Dad to her children and later Papaw to her grandchildren all of whom he loved very much. Survived by these children Joe Compton and Sonya Marns; grandchildren Joshua Compton, Alisha Potter, Samantha Compton, and Joseph Compton; great grandsons Mason Dickson, Wesley Potter, and Ian Compton. Survived by brothers Charles (Silvia) Owens, Knoxville; Lloyd Allen (Mary Ann) Owens, Mohawk, MI; sisters Lois (Gary) Thacker, Maryville, and Carolyn (Terry) Alfrey, Knoxville; special aunt, Jean O’Neal, Knoxville; sister-in-law Velma Owens, Monroe, MI several cousins, nieces and nephews, best friend Daryl Long and many special friends in the trucking industry. Family will receive friends Monday November 5, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Weaver Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday November 6, 2012 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with Rev Travis Henderson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
