Robin Denise Martin Long, age 55, of Knoxville, the loving mother of Rachel Delaney Long, and recently deceased, Dillon Scott Long, and wife to Timothy Scott Long, died peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, August 12th, 2018. Robin loved being around family and friends, reading any mystery novel she could get her hands on, or sitting by the pool. Everyone who had the privilege to know Robin knew of her great strength and resilience through the challenges she faced in life. In 2014, Robin survived multiple strokes and worked every day to ensure that she was alive and steadily remained excited to live life. In 2016, her eldest son suddenly passed away in a car accident, and she took the situation and used it to inspire everyone around her. After her son saved lives by donating organs, she became a huge Donate for life supporter, and has spread their important message to everyone she could. In 2017, Robin was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, and was given a chance to survive with a risky, but life-saving bone marrow transplant donated by her loving younger sister, Cindy Lewis. She fought cancer with everything she had and proved many doctors wrong with her great persistence and passion for living life. Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by her parents, Lanora and Bob Martin, her siblings, Cindy Martin Lewis and Robert Martin, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and her loving friends. The receiving of friends will be from 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday, August 18th at Cedar Lane United Methodist Church, 714 Cedar Lane, Knoxville, TN 37912 and the memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm. In honor of Robin, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to The National Foundation for Transplants at www.transplants.org/about/mission. Please consider becoming an organ and tissue donor. Condolences may be offered at www.berrylynnhurst.com
