Roberta (Bobbie) Johnson Collier our beloved mother, sister and aunt joined her Savior and many other friends and family in heaven on October 2, 2022, at the home of her sister Catherine in Knoxville, TN.
Bobbie was born in Knoxville, TN on December 3, 1935, to the late Howard T Johnson Sr. and the late Willie Smith Johnson. Bobbie was a 1953 graduate of Karns High School in Knoxville, TN. Bobbie worked in accounting at Miller’s Department Store, Service Auto Parts, and East Tennessee Ford. Bobbie’s most important job began in 1967 when she became a homemaker after her son Terry was born. Bobbie was married to Roy H. Collier from October 21, 1960, until his passing on December 13, 2016. Bobbie was a member of Catawba Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC where she taught children’s Sunday School for many years. Bobbie had also previously been a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and Sylvia Circle Baptist Church (both in Rock Hill) where she also taught children’s Sunday School. Bobbie’s life changed dramatically on November 12, 2017, when she had a significant stroke. Shortly after Bobbie’s stoke one of her doctors said that if a younger person would have had the same type of stoke, they probably would have died.
Bobbie is survived by her son Terry Collier (Kathy) of York, SC, her brother Howard T Johnson Jr., her sisters Evalyn Cooper (Dean) and Catherine Ellis, all of Knoxville, TN, and her brother Paul Johnson (Ann) of Sumter, SC.
