Richard was preceded in death by his infant daughter Laura Latricia Wynn. Richard was an industrious and diligent man whom in his earlier years lived a life most of us can only dream of living. Richard graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1959. At the age of 25, he was the owner and CEO of a 500 employee manufacturing company that created military jackets to support the Vietnam War. Richard and his father both had jacket production sites in Knoxville. During these earlier years, Richard travelled via his own boat and plane, but he most enjoyed owning his Ferrari dealership and travelling to race his Ferrari under the coaching of Bob Bondurant. Richard owned oil wells in Texas, and oversaw their operation and construction to ensure their efficiency. Richard owned Wynn Sporting Goods store in Knoxville. He also completed the architecture for some real estate development in Knoxville. Richard competed in pistol shooting and held several gun patents. He also developed computer programming in the late 1970s for local churches. But Richard also had a creative side; he was an artist, painter, music composer, movie developer, studied astronomy and foreign language, along with anything that piqued his interest. Richard spent his later years sharing his knowledge and wisdom with his daughter Victoria Wynn Watson and his legacy will be carried on by his family.
A graveside service at Whispering Waters for Richard will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919.
