Richard "Rick" Passmore

Richard "Rick" Passmore, age 72, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023. He graduated from Carson Newman University to be an ordained minister and became the Associate pastor at Olivet Baptist Church. Soon after, he was the Senior Pastor at Beaumont Avenue Baptist Church and later settled at Faithway Baptist Church as the Senior Pastor for 27 years. He was married to the love of his life Margaret Ann for 53 years and together had three children who he loved dearly. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He has touched so many lives through his ministry and lived his life to the fullest. There was nothing more he wanted to do in this life other than to be with family, sing and preach the gospel and spread the word to anyone and everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Betty Passmore and his great grandson, Eli Humphrey.

Survivors include wife of 53 years, Margaret; children Melissa Kolak (husband Billy), Richard S. Passmore (wife Hope), Susan Glover (husband Ben); grandchildren, Kristin Humphrey, Kayla Adams, Kelly Darden (husband Jacob), Kallie Passmore and Riley Kolak; great grandchildren, Eli Humphrey, Mallorie Darden, Ali King, Marlie Darden, Ellie Liles, Waylon Darden; brothers Steve Passmore (wife Lois) and Randy Passmore.

Family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023 with funeral service to follow at Faithway Baptist Church, 4402 Crippen Rd., Knoxville, TN 37918. Rev. Jerry Vittatoe and Rev. Rick Graves will officiate. Family and friends will meet on Friday at 12:45 pm at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 1 pm.
