Richard Norman Frye

Frye, Richard Norman, age 84, of South Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2013. Norman was the founder and owner of Vol Markets. He served in the US Navy and US Air Force during the Korean War. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Allie Mae Frye; brothers, Allen Roy, John, Robert, Harris, Leo, and Bill Frye; and sister, Ethel Calfee. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Acuff Frye; daughter and son-in-law, Lyn and Charles Wellborn; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Mindy Frye; grandchildren, Wesley Beeler, Alex Kelley, Olivia Frye; great-grandson, Carter Beeler and his mother, Hannah Clark; sisters-in-law, Jean Frye, Mary Davis, Wilma Lawrence, and Vivian McClain; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
