Phyllis Bergner Montgomery, 90, of Knoxville, died peacefully at home December 25th, 2018. Phyllis was born and reared in Cleveland, OH. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She and her family later moved to California where she met her beloved Charlie. They married in 1950 and had four children Scott, Lee, Stacey, and Charles. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. After raising four children, she and Charlie opened Allied Flooring Supply. The business was very successful and they later sold it and retired. They traveled and enjoyed life together till Charlie’s death in 2007. Phyllis was adored by everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Scott and sister, Audrey Carey.
Phyllis is survived by her sister, Jean Au; children, Lee and wife Paula Montgomery, Stacey and husband Robert Edwards, and Charles and wife Lisa Montgomery; grandchildren, Lauren and husband Dillion Hightower, Will and wife Allie Montgomery, Nathan, Drew and Austin Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Harper and Caroline Hightower.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with a Chapel Service to follow at 2:00 pm at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville. There will be an Entombment Service to follow in the Mausoleum Chapel of Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
