Perry "Bud" McArthur Cox

Perry "Bud" McArthur Cox, age 79 passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Perry was born in Pineville, KY. He was a member of Hoitt Avenue Baptist Church, where he truly enjoyed his time spent with his church family. Bud worked as a truck driver for over 40 years, retiring from United Van Lines in 2015. He was a loving husband, father, and papaw.

Bud is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Cox; mother and father, Phillip and Mable Cox; and grandchildren: Andy and Jessica Cox.

He leaves behind his son, Buddy (Michelle) Cox; favorite son, Mike (Dawn) Cox; favorite son, Donna Cox Leffew; son, Ricky (PJ) Cox; favorite four-legged child, Jasper; grandchildren: Bret Leffew, Brea and Carly Cox; Chance Leffew, Michael Cox, Jr., Molly Leffew, and Emma Cox; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Brown and Shirley McGill; brothers, Amos Cox and Darrell Cox; as well as too many loving nieces and nephews to mention.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday, November 6, 2023 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Rev. Doyle Flatford officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 AM for an 11:00 AM interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 2400 Berry Road, Knoxville, TN 37920, Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
