McLain, Paul E., age 85, of Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 15, 2011. He was retired with 39 years of service from Rohm and Haas. Preceded in death by parents, John W. McLain and Emma Hodge McLain.
Survived by wife of 63 years, Mary Arden McLain; daughters, Deborah McLain and Shirley Chesney; sons, Mike (Sue) McLain, Jerry (Gloria) McLain, Jeff (Linda) McLain, Shannon McLain and Greg McLain; grandsons, Rob and Tim (Melissa) Trent, Justin (Angi), Ben (Ashley), Josh (Misty), Colton, Chase, Bryce McLain, and Josh and Nick (Christina) Halcomb; granddaughters, LeAnne (Tony) Hayes, Mariah (Jimmy) Hipsher, Sarah (Aaron) Hardin, Alicia Chesney, and Keila, Channing, Rebecca, Annalese McLain; great grandchildren, Emma and Tucker Trent, Carlee and Gracee Hayes, Colby and Caden Hipsher, Reese and Carson Whitlock, Harper Pratt, Kailey and Eli McLain, Logan, Kameron, Jackson and Brennan Halcomb; brother, Jack (Miriam) McLain of Arizona. A special thanks the staff of UTMC, especially Dr. Janoyan.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 pm Sunday with the funeral at 4 pm in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Dr. David Hancock and Carrick Moore, Jr. officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Monday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for the graveside service at 11 am with Rev. Darryl Ross officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers, Frank and Glen McCarter, Hollis Petty, Lawrence Shelby, Paul Summers, Louis French, Bob and Sam Arden, Charlie Hansard and all other former co-workers from Rohm and Haas.
