P.R. will be remembered as the most loving mother and grandmother who adored her children and grandchildren beyond measure with pure unconditional love.
"I love you to the moon and back" was one of the ways she often ended happy conversations with her children and grandchildren.
P.R. was a kind and compassionate woman, quick witted, hard working, loyal and devoted.
She loved her family deeply and extended that love and care to all children, all living things, our Earth and her God.
She cared passionately about championing the causes of those in need and those that are downtrodden. She loved nature. She loved the beauty and gift giving of the Holiday Season spent with her children and grandchildren. She was creative and wrote beautiful verse and loved poetry. She adored her pugs Fly and Flynn and all dogs to be exact.
She stayed up on current events and stayed in daily contact with her loving family.
While her grandchildren called her "Mimi", her loving nature and listening ear drew many over the years of her life, to refer to her as "Mimi" as she became a source of love and support, interest and concern to everyone in the ever widening circle of those that loved her and were drawn to her kind and sweet heart.
P.R. was an Office Administrator for many years for a family owned company, Standard Auto in Watertown, NY.
She was born in Huntington, West Virginia and lived throughout her life in several cities and towns in central New York as well as Albany
She loved Knoxville and enjoyed her years living near the Smokies. She loved UT football.
P.R. was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth Smith Hamlin and Patrick Conway Hamlin, as well as her siblings, Grover Carmel Blankenship, Robert Blankenship, Billy Blankenship, Charles Lee, Teena (Blankenship) Spicer, Patrick Conway Hamlin and Sarah (Hamlin) Anderson.
A brother, Donald Blankenship lives in Texas.
Included in her family circle were the spouses of her siblings and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly.
P.R. is survived by her four children, and eight grandchildren.
Her daughter, Cynthia and Paul (deceased) Adam and their children, Nathan and Lauren Adam.
Her daughter, Laura Inman and her daughters, Emily and Caroline Inman,
Her son, Robert E. and (Paula) Johnson and their sons Robert E. and Braxton Johnson.
Her daughter, Amy and Matthew Smith and their children Samuel and Sophia Smith.
The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Critical Care Unit for their magnet level care of our mother over the past four months and for the love and spiritual care at UT Critical Care Unit provided to our mother and our family at the time of her passing, with special thanks to Dr. Hughett, Nurse Carlee and the rest of the Critical Care team.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knoxville, Tennessee Young Williams Animal Shelter, Behavioral Unit.
P.R. will be laid to rest at Berry Highland, Knoxville, Tennessee on June 20th at 11:00 am with a Celebration of her Life at the graveside service and inurnment and a small family reception immediately following at Berry Highland Memorial. Reverend Mark Lampley will be the officiant.
