Patricia Diane Spining, age 49, of Knoxville entered the gates of heaven on Friday, March 8, 2013, after a long and determined battle with brain cancer. She loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church of Concord. She was employed as the office administrator at Parkwest Surgery Center. She was also a volunteer for the American Heart Association and the Go Red for Women Campaign. She is survived by husband, Richard Spining, children, Andrew Birdwell, Mckenzie Birdwell, Christian Spining, and Riley Spining; granddaughter, Avery Birdwell; parents, Hal and Ruth Broome; sister, Nancy (Bob) Pearsall; nephew, Christopher Pearsall, brother-in-law Bob (Jackie) Spining; sisters-in-law, Renita Spining and Robin Garson. The family would like to thank Dr. Dan Ibach and the staffs of Thompson Cancer Center, Sherrill Boulevard, and Parkwest Hospital for their loving care of Diane. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 10 from 2-4 pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel followed by funeral services at 4pm with Dr. Doug Sager and Reverend Ron Mouser officiating.
