Pamela K. Davis, 66, of Oak Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 29th after a well fought, courageous and valiant battle with brain cancer. Devoted friends, Paula Whittenburg-Morton and husband Mike, along with close family members, surrounded her in those final days as they watched and waited until the angels of the Lord journeyed with her home.
Her husband, Robert Davis, her Mother Reba Marasco and Step-Father Andrew Marasco as well as her devoted grandparents, Jess and Viola Woodall, precede Pam in death.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her Brothers: Rock (Cheryl) Marasco and David (Maria) Marasco. Pam adored her cousins in Indiana, Sherry Woodall, Sabrina (Gary) Szostek, Angie Woodall and her Aunt Kay Woodall. The YaYa’s, Betty Seaton and Dean Cooper of Maryville, held a special place in her heart. Special friends who enriched her life immeasurably with fun and laughter are Rhonda Crabtree, Kim Keener, Kim and Bob Freeman, Patricia Ray and Rayleana Schenkenfelder. Pam loved her loyal pups, Lady Diana, Charles and Charlie Brown.
Born and raised in her hometown Rockford Tennessee, she attended Everett High School in Maryville and later The University of Tennessee where she met her husband Robert Davis. His job led them to live in and explore many US States. Pam owned and worked as groomer for many years at West Hills Pet Grooming Shop in Sequoia Hills in Knoxville. Her love for animals was deep. Her fondest memories were on her eighty-acre farm with her husband, 2 schnauzers, Goober and Barney, and her horse Topper.
Her interest in insurance led her to Cariten Health Care where she became a health insurance Agent working with the Medicare population. Pam always cherished the many friends she made at Cariten, and never forgot all the fun times and laughter. When Pam passed, she was an Independent Health Insurance Broker contracted with national insurance companies. She was devoted to her clients and peers.
Pam was an avid Lady Vol fan and held courtside season tickets for many years. She absolutely loved the “Beatles”, and in her twenties, she met Paul McCartney privately in Nashville at the recording studio where she worked. Over the years, she spent many weekends at Norris Lake, boating, eating out with friends, admiring blue birds, turtles, and owls. Pam enjoyed yearly beach trips and felt such a deep peace gazing into the ocean. The smoky mountains and cade’s cove were some of Pam’s favorite trips with her cousins and Ya Ya’s. All of these were highlight experiences of her life as she marveled at the beauty of God’s creation. She loved to read, talk about history and was a political buff. Her favorite saying was “it is what it is” which inspired her ability to keep a calm spirit, encouraging attitude and find strength in the Lord. She believed that the Lord would not give her more than she could handle and she was confident He was ever present with her until her very last breath.
Special thanks to Dr. Katherine Peters, Duke University, Preston Brain Center; Dr. Tracey Dobbs, TN Cancer; and The Alexander Guest house for all the love, support and medical care they provided.
