Nancy Lee Mele passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, May 27, 2024. She was a devoted sister to JoAnn and Andy, wife to Douglas, and a loving mother to her daughters Lorin and Trysta. She was also a caring mother-in-law to Scott and proud Nana to Miller and Owen. Nancy found abundant joy in her grandchildren, their laughter, and milestones which filled her heart with pride and love.
Nancy's passions extended beyond her family. She found solace and creativity in her knitting, creating beautiful works of art with every stitch. Her love for travel took her to far-off destinations, where she soaked in the wonders of the world with a sense of adventure and curiosity. Nancy also had a special fondness for birds, finding beauty and tranquility in their songs and flights.
Nancy's kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she held dear.
A visitation for Nancy will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McCarty - Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37924. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
