Mitzi Mowery Stooksbury

Mitzi loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength. Her greatest desire in life and death was to share His love with others. She did that so well as a loving wife and mother as well as a generous, thoughtful, and loyal friend.

Mitzi was a Disability Manager with Knox County Retirement Pension Board and faithful member of Redeemer Church of Knoxville.

She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on April 11, 1964 to Wayne and Ann Hill Mowery.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Mowery. She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, David Stooksbury and her beloved son, Wesley Stooksbury. She is also survived by her sister, Marti Mowery Bolton (Chris) and her mother, Ann Hill Mowery. Mitzi also leaves a loving father-in-law, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of truly special friends.

The family invites you to join a celebration of Mitzi’s life at Redeemer Church of Knoxville on Thursday, February 23, at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Shawn Slate officiating. Afterwards there will be a reception and receiving of friends at Redeemer Church.
