Mr. Michael R Whitaker

Michael Whitaker, age 68 of Knoxville, passed away at his home April 3, 2023. Mike graduated from Karns High School and worked for Revco/CVS for many years in the distribution center. Mike enjoyed hunting, all things nature, photography and motorcycles. He specifically enjoyed all the trips and times spent with all his friends in the Volunteer Road Riders. Preceded in death by parents, Dennis and Faye Whitaker; grandparents, Robert and Cordie Cardwell, Harley and Lillie Whitaker along with many loved aunts, uncles and cousins. Survived by sister, Susie (Terry) Smith; nephew, Brandon (Brittany) Smith; niece, April (Jay) Johnson. Beloved great nieces, Bella, Gracie, and Monroe; great nephew, Memphis; aunts, Imy and Brenda. Special companion, Peanut. Family would like to extend a special thanks to Mike’s best friend Jerry Cupp as well as his nurse Zach and all the care he received from Amedisys Hospice. Family will receive friends at Weaver Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7 pm with the service to follow at 7pm. Rev. Ritchie Turner officiating.
