RYAN, MAXINE WHITE - age 92, of Knoxville, TN, passed away at Summit View of Farragut on November 6, 2016. Maxine White was born in the community of Glendale in Bybee, Cocke County, TN on September 16, 1924. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN. Maxine was married to Francis Edward Ryan. Frank, one of his brothers, and his father had come from Chicago to Oak Ridge during WWII to assist in building the plants. Maxine had come from Glendale to work as a waitress for her aunt who was managing a restaurant in Oak Ridge. After about a yearlong courtship, they eloped to Rossville, GA on March 11, 1945. They were married for 54 years until Frank passed away in 2000. Maxine is survived by her daughter, Betty Ryan Wright (Will) of Loudon, TN; grandchildren, William Clay Wright of El Paso, TX, (great-grandchildren, Jacob Ryan Wright of Knoxville, Paolo and Karen Wright of El Paso, TX); grandson, Jesse Ryan Wright of Loudon County, TN. Maxine is also survived by son, James J. Ryan, Sr. (Renee) of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Brigitte Ryan, (great-grandchildren, Makela Lacy and Chance Lacy) of Sevierville, Joe Ryan and Heather Ryan Butler of Knoxville, TN and Jazzylynn Ryan of Cape Coral, FL; sisters, Helen Davis of Bybee, TN, Kathleen Dickson of Punta Gorda, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Belva and Ulis White of Bybee, TN; half-brothers, Francis Knight of Rogersville, TN, Horace and Bill Knight of Morristown, TN, and sister, Josephine White Bible of Morristown, TN. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 13 from 1-3 pm at Weaver Funeral Home, 5815 Western Ave., Knoxville, TN. Family and friends will proceed to Oak Ridge Memorial Park, 1501 Bethel Valley Rd., Oak Ridge, TN following service for graveside services where her ashes will be buried next to her husband Frank. Trinity United Methodist Church minister will be officiating.
