Matthew Stephen Robertson, age 34, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2022. He was born on October 8, 1987, to his loving parents, Steve and Margo Robertson. Matthew loved the outdoors and camping with his friends and family. He loved his family and his family loved him dearly in return. Matthew was a great big brother and protector of his sister, Emily. He never failed to say "I Love you" with a hug after any time spent together. Matthew was loyal to his large circle of friends with whom he enjoyed all sports, particularly SEC football and basketball. Matthew had a special love for all animals, especially his dogs, Henry and Shadow. He had a natural gift for artwork and provided drawings to many friends and family. Matthew leaves many friends who loved and appreciated his infectious smile and his deep loyalty to them.
He grew up in the Bonny Kate / South Doyle community and was a member of Stock Creek Baptist Church where he came to know Jesus and was baptized. Matthew had a strong faith and love of God. He left this world much too soon for those who loved him, but faith in the plans of God help us know that we will be reunited. We take great comfort knowing God has two wonderful men, Matthew and Thomas, by His side and that they are together.
Matthew was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Robertson; grandmother, Blendeane Hill Mickelson; grandfather, Edward F. Hill; grandparents, William H. and Martha Robertson; uncle, David Robertson and infant aunt, Carolyn Robertson.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Steve and Margo; his adoring sister, Emily; many aunts, uncles, cousins and great friend, Tyler Rogers.
Family will receive friends Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 2:30 PM until 3:45 PM at Stock Creek Baptist Church, 8106 Martin Mill Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
