Mary Lois Newton

Mary Lois Newton, age 86, of Knoxville went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital. She loved her family very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilton and Lillian Hopkins; son, Danny Stevens; sisters, Geneive Wilborn, and Marlene Leffew; and brother, Duane Hopkins. She is survived by her husband Harold Newton; daughter, Gail Mathes (David); grandchildren, Scott Mathes, Mindy Tayeh, Duane Stevens; great-grandchildren, Christina, Tyler, Michael, Amir, Gabriel, and Breauna; and sister, Jeanette Triplett. Special thanks to Mindy Tayeh. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm at Weaver Funeral Home.
