My father Carlyle Braswell and Mary Pat's grandmoother Velna Braswell Wheless were brother and sister, so Mary Vann, Mary Pat's mother, and I are first cousins.
I remember Mary Vann as a kind and cheerful , and the guest book entries and pictures of Mary Pat and her family assure me she too was a blessing to everyone who knew and loved her.
My heart goes out to you at this sad time.

I have many fond memories of Mary Pat. From being a mentor when I started working at Wallace with her to my son being in her class. I will never forget having to replace a bottle of lotion Calvin poured all over himself because he wanted to smell like his teacher! She laughed and I cried, but I will never forget her sense of humor about the situation. She was a person who deserved much respect. I will miss her dearly but always have such fond memories.

Keith and I were saddened and shocked to hear of Mary Pat's passing. She has always held a special place in both our hearts. Her laughter, caring spirit, beautiful voice, and sharing her love for Christ will be missed. We wish we could be there to celebrate her life with all her family and loved ones, but due to weather conditions, we can't make the trip. We will always remember the fun times with family at "the river". Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Anne and I are so sorry to hear about Mary Pat. I have such wonderful memories of Cousin Mary Pat! We wish we could be there with you today but we are snowed in here in NC. You all are in our prayers.

To all Mary Pat's precious loved ones...Mike, Marci, Tim, David, and families...I was so very sad to get word of Mary Pat's passing.  I have no doubt, however, that she is with Jesus now and has a big smile on her face!  I have such wonderful memories of her. She and I first met when we were assigned as college roommates our freshman year at Carson-Newman.  I was a newly transplanted Yankee, many miles from home.  Mary Pat made me feel so welcome in Tennessee. As you can imagine, we had some fun times and a lot of laughs.  She was always bubbly and enthusiastic and truly "never knew a stranger". I remember how much she loved her family...always telling me about her brothers. And how much she loved her friends...especially her church friends...and what a voice...a true gift from God. I will be forever grateful to her for taking me in and putting me on a plane to home when my mother passed very suddenly, shortly after graduation.  What a caring person she was.  She will always and forever be a happy part of my memories.

What a wonderful person Mary Pat was.  We went on many youth trips together at West Haven Baptist Church.  She then took care of my daughter at Wallace Memorial Day Care years later.  I always loved to stand near her in youth choir. What a beautiful voice.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  She was an amazing person.

I am so sadden by this.  Mary Pat and I were great friends all through our school years but sadly lost touch over the years.  I was very happy we were able to reconnect in Facebook.  She was an amazing person and I will miss her very much.  My love and prayers to her husband, daughter and family.

Mike, Marci and family, David and family, and Tim and family, we are so very sorry for your loss. We have known Mary Pat since 1971 when we moved here and she started babysitting for our 2 daughters who were 1 and 2.5 then.  We've enjoyed knowing Mary Pat all these years and enjoyed her sweet spirit and giving heart!  She will be sadly missed by many.  You all will be in our thoughts and prayers now and throughout the year!

Mike and Marci, my heart is broken right along with yours!  Mary Pat and her parents were so special to me when Mary Pat and I were students at Carson-Newman. They took me under their wings and became my family away from home. That continued until God called them home. I know that Pat and Mary are rejoicing to have her home with them!  I pray that God fills the void she is leaving with precious memories!  Blessings my friends!

Mike and Maric I'm so sorry to hear this I was the teacher next to Mary Pats room at Wallace .i had to take a leave of absence when Dad was on  hospice and passed when I returned I was put in Mary Pats room as Her helper after almost 8 years of lead teacher. Mary Pat knew how hard it was for me and treated me with the upmost respect that I will never forget .She was/is a great lady.
