Dunlap, Mary Claudette Neubert, “Nana”, age 77, went to be with her Lord Monday, February 15, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Nana was born October 18, 1932 in the spring house of Neubert Springs in Knoxville to Albert and Aggie Neubert and has one sister she loved dearly, Bobbie Neubert. Nana lived in Oak Ridge with her family while her father worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She was a 1949 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. Nana married Walter Dunlap, Sr. in 1955. She is survived by her husband and children Walter Dunlap, Jr., Fred Dunlap, Geoff Dunlap, Karla Hightower, David Hightower, and Art Davis. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss their friend, their Nana. Not only could they always rely on Nana for a sweet treat and a cold coke, but they relied on her to believe in them. Nana’s fierce love for her family serves to remind her children and grandchildren they will always need each other. While her up-all-night hours confused her family, Nana’s friends at Wal-Mart, Food City, and Kroger will miss their late-night shopping buddy. Visiting of friends begins at 6:00 PM Thursday with a 7:00 PM service conducted by Don Wilson of Sevier Heights Baptist Church at Berry Funeral Home in South Knoxville. Friends and family will gather Friday at 11:00 AM for the burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. You are invited to go to Nana’s website at www.MeM.com to sign a guest register and leave your thoughts and memories of her. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
