Marvin Lynn Jones II was born on July 13, 1960, in Knoxville, Tennessee in Baptist Hospital. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and served church and community well until his death. He was raised and educated in Knoxville, Tennessee. Lynn met and married the love of his life, Darlene Jones. To this union Marvin Lynn Jones III, was born. Lynn was an outstanding father who lovingly raised his son. He was self-taught, teaching himself many skills and opened his own Lawn Service. He managed the day-to-day operations of his business, carefully balancing his family, and others whose life he touched. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 18, 2017, unexpectedly. He leaves his family and all the lives he touched to cherish his memory. Lynn is survived by his Mother, Janet Clabo Jones, Ormond Beach, Florida, Geralyn Ruth Moulton, Ormond Beach, Florida, and Jennifer Gail Jones, Dunwoody, Georgia. His sister, Marie Jackson Correll, Hendersonville, Tennessee, proceeded his death only a month prior to his joining her in heaven. Lynn loved his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He always knew and felt that Darlene, (his wife) the Ownby family adopted him as one of their own. Lynn was a cultivator and nurturer to all who passed his way. His life symbolized his spiritual conviction which he shared freely to all he encountered. Those whom he encountered were edified by his life. He will be remembered for his strength and moral virtue. His presence will be sorely missed by all that he touched with his love and kindness. He loved his family, adored his nephews, Kirkpatrick Peyton Jackson, Nashville, Tennessee, Burl James Clabo Gerhris, Ormond Beach, Florida, his nieces, Marisha Jenna Williamson, Ormond Beach, Florida, and Hannah Ruth Jones, Dunwoody, Georgia. Lynn loved his many great nephews, nieces and cousins both in the Jones and Ownby families. He adored all and those that considered him his friend. A dear friend recently quoted, “Lynn would give you his shirt on the coldest snowy day and give you that good ole bro hug, and you always knew it was sincere and heartfelt.” The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 8:00pm.
