Marie V. Moneymaker

Marie Moneymaker age 95 of Knoxville, our earthly angel gained her heavenly wings on October 1, 2024 and has now joined her husband, Tubby, after 35 years apart. Marie was born July 22, 1929, and she offered 95 years of love, compassion, peace, and friendship to those around her. Marie and Tubby were married in 1947 and raised three children together. She is known for her genuine kind-hearted nature, welcoming others with open arms and excitement, a contagious smile with the sweetest giggle, and a positive outlook to all life’s experiences. She had quite the knack of being there for those around her even when one didn’t know they needed her. She was just as special as the way she made everyone else feel. Marie’s green thumb and sweet words could make any flower bloom. When she wasn’t tending to flowers or spending time with loved ones, you could find her soaking in nature’s beauty while sitting on her swing, working puzzles, catering to her sweet tooth, casting out a line, going to the mountains, and visiting the ocean.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Hazel Shehan ; husband, Howard “Tubby” Moneymaker; her sisters - Helen (Dwight) Jones and Betty (Tommy) Boyd ; her son, Darrell Moneymaker ; her grandchildren - Gerald (Susan) Cole, Annette Kee, and Tyler Kee.

Marie leaves behind brother, Tommy (Peggy) Shehan; children – Judy (Charles) Fairbanks and Franklin (Thresia) Moneymaker; daughter in law, Melody Moneymaker ; grandchildren – Angela, David, Ronnie, Daniel, Christopher, Brian, and Dustin; 20 great grandchildren and 18 great - great grandchildren with 1 on the way. A special thank you to Franklin, Thresia and Daniel for their love and care of Marie for the last 5 years. There will be a call at convenience Friday October 4, 2024 at Berry Highland South Funeral Home 9010 E. Simpson Road from 1-5 p.m. Service will be Saturday October 5, 2024 at Berry Highland South at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Berry Highland South Cemetery. Rev. Adrian Jones officiating.
