Lucy Lee Galyon Jett age 95 of Knoxville finished her earthly journey and went to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Lucy was saved in Bible School at 14 years of age at Galilee Baptist Church and baptized at Chilhowee Baptist Church. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, before joining Valley Grove Baptist Church in 1961, where she began to grow as a Christian along with her family. Lucy loved her church and continually thanked God for his blessings and the encouragement she received. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for more than 40 years. Lucy retired from University of Tennessee where she supervised the print shop. She received much joy in reading the Bible, travel, all Tennessee sports, cross word puzzles and spending time with her family, especially weekly game nights with Richard and Linda Cramer. Lucy was preceded in death by parents, Anderson Mack and Hattie Galyon; husband, Lowell Adrian Jett; brothers, Troy Galyon, John Galyon, Arthur Galyon, Ralph Galyon and Mack Galyon Jr; sisters, Mildred Key, Faye Alleman. She is survived by 4 sons, Steven (Susan) Jett, Daniel (Cappy) Jett, Philip (Debra) Jett and Ted Mack (Pamela) Jett. 6 grandchildren, Shannon (Mark) Dixon, Elizabeth Woods, Danielle (John) Ramos, Matthew (Kristi) Jett, Sarah Jett and Max Jett; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Don Alleman, along with numerous family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville. Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Vaughn and Dr. Steven Jett officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday February 19, 2025, at Berry Highland South Chapel for a 11:00 a.m. committal.
