Lucille D. Smith-Marsh, age 81, of Knoxville, moved from her earthly home on August 7, 2018 to her permanent residence – HEAVEN -. She was welcomed and escorted before the Throne of God to bow, give thankfulness, and worship her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a struggle and battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her mind is free and clear. Lucille was a longtime member of Valley View Baptist Church of 33 years. She retired with 37 years of service with South Central Bell/AT&T. A 1956 Fulton High School graduate. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a true example of a Christian, her light shined bright. She held strong values which she lived and instilled much knowledge about God, The Bible, Love and respect to her children at an early age, every day of her life. She passed those values along to her grandchildren. She loved to travel and enjoyed going to Christian concerts, especially The Gaithers and friends, and listened to gospel music. Preceded in death by her father, Verlin Davis and her best friend, mother, Mossie Davis; loving husband, Joseph Marsh and first husband and her children’s father, Roy L. Smith; dear friend, Wanda Walsh. She is survived by her children who rise up and call her “Blessed”. Gina (Greg) Headrick, Danny Smith, Karen (Chris) Rayburn; grandchildren, Paul, Stacy, Alyssa, and Amber; special friend of 64 years, Ernestine Hinton, Joanne Johnson, Gertha Hurst, and many more special friends. A very special thanks to the outstanding, giving, and loving caretakers and all other departments of Ben Atchley Veterans Home and Smoky Mountain Hospice for all your love, care, and support. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5 – 7 pm at Berry Lynnhurst Chapel, 2300 Adair Drive. The funeral will follow with Rev. Justin Pratt and Rev. Charlie Lynch officiating. Interment will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10 am at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
