Former Freemason, former member of Kerbela Shriners. He was proud of the 3100 sq ft house in Lenoir City he built, to live in and use as a retirement investment. He loved watching Nascar Racing, watching the news and weather station, and Tennessee ballgames. His life was scheduled around and according to Vols schedules which he watched in his man cave located in the garage. He also had a love of music, especially country music. Lowell was a talented guitarist and learned to play several instruments during his lifetime. Raised in the Nashville area, he met many of the old-time country music stars. He loved to travel. Last year he and his wife took a 2-week road trip around the Florida coast. Nashville was one of his favorite places to visit and he went every chance he got. The beach was a destination he looked forward to every year. He loved to go to North Myrtle Beach and eat oysters at Rockefellers Raw Bar. He enjoyed trivia, playing pool, and throwing darts. Lowell owned a couple of restaurants in his career. He was also a Director of Transportation at a Food Service company. More recently he worked for ADT call center.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lowell Rudy Cummings and Mary Helen Ogle Cummings.
Lowell is survived by his wife Donna Lyons-Kennedy Cummings; daughter Miranda Kay Cummings; Stepchildren April Kennedy Trammell and Alex (Jessica) Kennedy; grandchildren Jordan (Cody) Trammell McWhorter, Madison "Maddie" Trammell, Oliver "Ollie Kennedy, and Charlie Kennedy; great-grandchild Emberlynn McWhorter; siblings Deborah "Debby" (Mackey) Brownlee and Thomas "Tommy" Cummings and special nephew and niece Robert "Bobby" (Jennifer) Garrard and Kari (Alex) Johnson. He also leaves behind many loved aunts and uncles and his loving pets Dozer, Buddy, and Little Girl.
The family welcomes friends for a Visitation on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Berry Highland West at 10am with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11am, officiated by Reverend Jake Childers of Grace Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Lowell's name.
