Winton, Lillian –age 81 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2011 following a brief illness. Lillian was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Knoxville. She was very devoted to her church where she sang in the choir. Lillian never met a stranger and was one of the first African American triplets born in Knoxville. She retired from the UT Research Department after 30 years. Preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by loving husband of 63 years, Albert Winton, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Albert Jr. and Marsha Winton; daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Lucas Howard; grandson, David Joseph Winton; sisters, Martha Gillespie and Blonnie Thompson; brothers, Meek Edward and Walter Cox; several nieces and nephews; special sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rev. Mildred Cox, Betty Winton and George T. Winton. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Kay Reynolds officiating. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 1:15 PM at East Tennessee Veterans on John Sevier Hwy. for a 1:30 PM interment.
