OWENBY, LESTER EARL – age 86, of Knoxville passed away February 17, 2012 at Sweetwater Hospital. Lester was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Preceded in death by parents Richard M. and Laura E. Owenby; wife Wanda J.; son Richard; daughter Kay A.; brother Troy; sister Lela; and grandson Michael Hal. Survived by wife Bertie R.; sons Michael and wife Cindy Owenby, Ronald and wife Darlene Owenby, James L. Owenby, David Owenby, and Brian D. and wife Misty Owenby; daughter Lisa J. Jackson; 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and sisters Lila and Ina Ruth. Family will receive friends at Weavers Sunday 11:30am-1:00pm with a 1pm chapel service to follow with Rev. Dan Mayhle officiating. Family and friends will then go in procession to Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 2:30pm interment.
